S.W.O.T analysis of
John Varvatos
John Varvatos was born in Detroit Michigan. He started off with Polo Ralph Lauren in 1983
then Calvin Klein in 1990. In 1995 Varvatos moved back to Polo Ralph Lauren and
launched the Polo Jeans Company. The year 2000 is when he debuted his first own
clothing line under his own name. Converse in 2001 then gave him a license to
create high end converse. Varvatos then partnered up with Shiseido and started
a fragrance line and skin care products for men.

Strengths- Some
strengths with John Varvatos is that he has partnered up with some well known
names including Polo Ralph Lauren, Converse, and Shiseido. He also has multiple products in line: Men’s
clothing, Men’s Shoes, Men’s fragrance, Men’s accessories, Men’s Bags, and
Boy’s clothing. Also he has now partnered up with Chrysler 300 in designing the
interior of their cars. Advertising
campaigns are strong for advertising.
Weaknesses- Strengths of John Varvatos include only
being a target for men. Many items are
sold for discounted prices, a lot of sales.
Opportunities- Opportunities for John Varvatos include
the collaborations with designing in well known brands. He does has the opportunity
to continue to grow as he is doing now.
Threats- There are some threats to John Varvatos and
or company. Threats including only being marketable for men. Other designers making replica and selling
cheaper or more expensive.
